Password changes

NIS

NIS password changes maybe done from any machine attached to the domain using the yppasswd command.

NIS group membership

  1. On quark
    1. Edit /etc/group and add the user to the desired group.
    2. cd to /var/yp and run make.
  2. In the ACL images (only if this is a local, non-NIS group!)
    1. Edit /etc/group and add the user
    2. You can now either push the new group file out, or wait a week for the reimage.
