loading usb modules

First plug in the sdcard reader to usb

~$ sudo /sbin/modprobe usb-storage
~$ sudo /sbin/modprove sd_mod

If modules are loaded correctly, you should see them in the listed like below:

mounting usb drive

  • sda1 - dos parition
  • sda2 - linux partition
~$ sudo mount /dev/sda1 /p0/hip/mnt/sda1
~$ sudo mount /dev/sda2 /p0/hip/mnt/sda2

copying files for backup

~$ sudo cp -dpr /p0/hip/mnt/sda1/* /p0/hip/pmp_backup/sda1/
~$ sudo cp -dpr /p0/hip/mnt/sda2/* /p0/hip/pmp_backup/sda2/

Check if all files were copied by comparing the directories

unmounting drives

~$ umount /dev/sda1
~$ umount /dev/sda2

unloading modules

~$ /sbin/rmmod sd_mod
~$ /sbin/rmmod usb-storage

Then unplug sdcard reader from usb
