making backup directories

sudo mkdir pmp_backup
cd /p0/hip/pmp_backup
sudo mkdir sda1     (to hold backup of dos partition)
sudo cd mkdir sda2  (to hold backup of linux partition)

making mounting directories

cd /p0/
sudo mkdir hip
cd /p0/hip
sudo mkdir mnt
cd /p0/hip/mnt
sudo mkdir sda1     (to hold dos partition)
sudo cd mkdir sda2  (to hold linux partition)

list modules with lsmod

loading usb modules

~$ sudo /sbin/modprobe usb-storage
~$ sudo /sbin/modprove sd_mod
  • Then plug sdcard reader to usb

mount usb drive

  • sda1 - dos parition
  • sda2 - linux partition
~$ sudo mount /dev/sda1 pmp/sda1
~$ sudo mount /dev/sda2 pmp/sda2

copy files for backup

~$ cp -r pmp/ backup/

unmount drives

~$ umount /dev/sda1
~$ umount /dev/sda2

unload modules

~$ /sbin/rmmod sd_mod
~$ /sbin/rmmod usb-storage
