Lilly Library eDisplay Troubleshooting

The pen is not working

Follow these steps in order, check to see if the pen works after each step.

  1. Make sure the pen is plugged into the computer.
  2. Restart the computer by pressing the power button on the computer once.
  3. Get the TV remote and press the blue"Home" button. Navigate to the "Pentouch" option, click enter. You will be given a number of inputs which support pentouch, there should be just 1. Highlight that option and click enter. The menu should exit, and you will be alerted that the pentouch is on, click enter again.
  4. Unplug the pen from the USB port on the side. There is a light on the pen that should be off now, press the button on the pen once and wait for the light to turn green. Check to make sure the pen works on the TV now.
  5. Plug the pen back into the TV.
  6. If the pen still does not work email hip@cs.earlham.edu.

The display is not turning on

  1. Make sure that the TV is plugged in and turned on.
  2. Make sure that the computer is plugged into the TV over a blue VGA cable.
  3. Restart the computer.
  4. Contact hip@cs.earlham.edu.

The screensaver is not showing up

  1. Restart the compter.
  2. Contact hip@cs.earlham.edu.

The display is acting unusual or does not look right

  1. Restart the computer.
  2. Contact hip@cs.earlham.edu.

The TV and/or Computer is on fire

  1. Grab a fire extinguisher, pull the pin, aim the nozzle hose at the fire and standing about fire feet from the fire spray the fire down.
