New page

= Chrome Remote Desktop =
Google Chrome Remote Desktop is a free remote access tool offered by Google, designed to enable users to access their desktop or laptop computers remotely from any other computer or mobile device with the Google Chrome browser installed. It allows users to remotely control and access files, applications, and desktops securely and easily over the internet.

== Supported Machines ==
We currently support Chrome Remote desktop on the following machines:
*Wilson (wilson.cs.e.e)
*Bartik (bartik.cs.e.e)
*Goldwasser (goldwasser.cs.e.e)
*Bilas (bilas.cs.e.e)
*Johnson (johnson.cs.e.e)
*Graham (graham.cs.e.e)

They can all be accessed from the Lovelace lab, or remotely via SSH by first connecting to Bowie or Hopper.

== How to use it on our Machines ==
# In a terminal, SSH to the machine you want to access remotely (check supported machines).
# In a browser, open [https://remotedesktop.google.com/headless this page], and make sure you are signed in to the right google account.
# Click
Begin
,
Next
,
Authorize
. You will be given a list of commands, copy the
Debian Linux
version.
# Paste it into your terminal and run it. It will prompt you to create a PIN number. Make sure you remember this, you will need it to access the machine.
# At this point you should be able to access the machine from [https://remotedesktop.google.com/access the "access" page].

*Note: when you first connect, you might see password prompts for an admin password, you don't need this. You can just click cancel on each of them.
